AACC PNW President joins WA trade mission to Australia

AACC Pacific Northwest President Martin Gorman accompanied the recent Washington State Office of the Governor’s trade mission to Australia.

The chamber partnered with the Governor’s office to further Australia-Washington relations, and to contribute to the planning of the mission.

Martin attended several important events throughout the trip, including a tour of our partner CSIRO’s Clayton campus in Melbourne. CSIRO hosted Washington Governor Jay Inslee, as well as other members of the trade delegation.

As part of AACC Pacific Northwest’s support for the trade mission, Martin arranged to showcase Washington wines for members of the trade delegation and the Australian wine industry.

At events in Sydney and Melbourne, samples from 6 outstanding Washington wineries were on offer: Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery, Avennia Winery, Tirriddis Sparkling Wines, Fidelitas Wines, Two Vintners and Alexandria Nicole Cellars.

Invest Victoria hosted a reception at their Collins Street offices in Melbourne. Governor Inslee and the trade delegation were in attendance, alongside the U.S. Consul General and the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia.

During the trip, the delegation was also treated to a roundtable discussion with a panel of experts from Victoria’s Clean Energy Council, The University of Melbourne and the Washington State Labor Council.
