Aussies and friends flock to AACC PNW’s first Summer BBQ event

The Australian American Chamber of Commerce Pacific Northwest held its first-ever event, the Aussie Summer BBQ Party, on Sunday August 21 at the Kangaroo and Kiwi pub in Ballard.

About 100 people turned out to bask in the rare Seattle sun and enjoy the familiar taste of authentic Australian beef sausages, lamingtons, party pies and sausage rolls.

Kangaroo & Kiwi owner Brad Howe graciously allowed AACC to hold the event at the pub, and even served as master barbecuer for the event. Beef sausages were shipped in from Aussie Pies and Sausages in Los Angeles, and the lamingtons, pies and sausage rolls were sourced from Burien’s own Australian Pie Co.

In a sign of strong support for the newly-formed AACC PNW, many attendees also opted to sign up for individual and family memberships for 2023.

As we look ahead to our 2023 calendar, numerous big events are being planned for next year, including Australia Day, ANZAC Day, professional networking drinks and more.
