Board appoints new president and vice president

The Australian American Chamber Of Commerce Pacific Northwest is excited to announce changes to the composition of it’s interim board, ahead of next year’s first Annual General Meeting (AGM). Martin Gorman has been officially appointed president, replacing Len Reid, who is retiring after over 20 years of service to the community. The board wishes to recognize Len for his support and leadership of the Seattle community over the years.

I am excited to lead the AACC-PNW Board while we transition to a relevant, effective and sustainable organization. I am also grateful for the expertise and enthusiasm already on the Board.

We are fortunate to be able to learn from the examples of the Texas and San Francisco chapters which have each successfully created networks for Aussie ex pats and a resource for organizations moving to the US or taking an interest in Australia.

During this period, here in the Pacific Northwest, we need to find our feet by understanding the value our members, potential and existing, look for from us and creating the capabilities needed to deliver that value.

And I would like to express my sincere gratitude and admiration for Len and best wishes as he and Pat embark upon their next adventure.

Martin Gorman is the Managing Director and founder of Red Earth Wines. He specializes in importing and distributing Australian wines within the US, and runs an online wine retail business called MyWinehunter.

In Australia, Martin was a management consultant for nearly twenty years with DMR/Fujitsu Consulting, and then IBM, leading national practices in Business Strategy and Enterprise Value Management.

Christie Appointed Vice President

In addition, the board has appointed Christie Moffat as its first vice-president in addition to her portfolio of business development executive. The AACC and its members look forward to the continued growth through the great leadership of it’s board, in serving the community.
